Kids Wish Network plugs-in Daniel’s dream

ASHLAND- Daniel loves all music, puppies, the color blue, and playing with his trains. But this 10-year-old boy absolutely loves watching car racing and Disney movies. These activities may seem tame and even boring for a lot of young boys, but for Daniel, they are his main source of entertainment. He suffers from chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura, a blood disorder that causes a severe decrease in the number of platelets. He also has cerebral palsy, scoliosis, a seizure disorder, and brain and optic atrophy.

This sweet little boy can’t stand or walk for long periods of time, has had 8 blood transfusions, 2 eye surgeries, and suffers from recurring migraines. But through it all, Daniel keeps a smile on his face and thinks he’s just like any other kid. So when Wish Coordinator Kara Stecker of Kids Wish Network heard about Daniel and his love of videos, she made the connection necessary to get him a new 32” television for his viewing pleasure.

“He was just so tickled when we picked up the T.V.,” said Wanda, his mother. “He was so excited that he just kept patting the box until we got home.” She said that their old television was too small and that Daniel had to sit too close to the screen to see his shows; he no longer has that problem.

Daniel’s condition might make it impossible for him to take a trip to Disney World to meet his favorite characters, but now no matter how he feels, he can visit with them anytime he wants to in his own living room. They can come through the T.V. screen larger than life with just the touch of a button.

Kids Wish Network would like to thank Circuit City for offering Daniel’s television at a discounted rate.
