DUNMOR – Kids Wish Network, a nationally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit charity is requesting help from local communities to make a special wish come true for Jeremy, a terminally ill child living in Dunmor, Kentucky. Jeremy, age 16, has three brain tumors, and is currently undergoing treatment at the University of Louisville. Sadly, there isn’t much more the doctors can do. They’ve stopped chemotherapy and radiation treatments since his tumors have started growing larger and will soon take his life.
Like many other teens his age, his most prized possession is his truck, a 1967 Chevy that he purchased at the age of 13 with his own allowance. He bought the truck as a special project that he and his father could restore while spending quality time together. When his health took a turn for the worse, he continued to hope for its restoration, so his brother could drive him where he needed to go. If he can get it restored, he will leave the truck to his brother after he is gone. It would be a very special gift, because in all its glory, it would be a remembrance of Jeremy’s hopes and dreams.
While Jeremy can no longer help with the project, his father wants to finish the metal work himself, in honor of his son. From there, Kids Wish Network will have it professionally restored to complete Jeremy’s vision.
Kids Wish Network primarily approaches large corporations for assistance, but due to Jeremy’s rapidly decreasing health, it has turned into a “rush wish,” and needs immediate help. We’re hoping the community can help raise $7,000, of which Kids Wish Network will give 100% of the donations directly toward the restoration.
While some people have their whole lives to have their dreams fulfilled, Jeremy’s will unfairly be cut short. Help create a wondrous moment for Jeremy and his family that will live on long after his wish is fulfilled. If you’d like to help make his wish come true, please send donations payable to: Kids Wish Network, 160 Scarlet Blvd., Oldsmar, FL 34677.
