PARTLOW – Britney, age 6, of Partlow, Virginia, is a fun, loving and energetic child. Britney loves the Rugrats, Britney Spears, anything purple and especially going to amusement parks. While she appears to be just like any other child her age, looks can be deceiving – Britney has a severe case of Type I diabetes. While most children are worried about who to play with after school or what flavor ice cream they’d like for dessert, Britney is worried about frequent visits to the doctor and all of the medications she must take. While treatments are a blessing, they can also take a lot of fun away from being a kid.
Britney was in need of a special dose of happiness. When Wish Coordinator Briana Reiter of Kids Wish Network was contacted about this sweet little girl and her need for some amusement, she quickly “coasted” into action, making her wish of annual family passes for Paramount’s King Dominion amusement park come true. While all children love amusement parks, it is especially meaningful for Britney who can have fun and forget about the burdens of her illness. Britney’s Mom, Bernadette, said, “Britney is so excited, she can’t wait to go!”
It won’t be long before Britney and her family will be experiencing all the thrills, family fun and togetherness at Kings Dominion. It will be a special time for Britney when for an entire year, she will be the queen of “Kings”.
Kids Wish Network would like to thank Paramount’s Kings Dominion for providing Britney and her family with annual passes and becoming a part of the special magic a wish is made of.
