RANCHO CUCAMONGA – Julian, age 17, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, loves watching Kung Fu movies, eating pizza and listening to Hip Hop. He is a lot like many other teens his age, except Julian doesn’t take anything in his life, especially his health, for granted. Julian’s red and white blood cells are constantly in battle – at 6 months of age, he was diagnosed with sickle cell disease. Not only does Julian suffer with extreme pains in his chest and abdomen, but when he experiences a sickle cell crisis, Julian must be hospitalized and closely monitored for up to a week, receiving transfusions, oxygen and pain medication.
In need of a special dose of happiness, Wish Coordinator Kara Stecker of Kids Wish Network was contacted about Julian’s wish of owning an Alienware computer, a dream machine designed for high performance gaming. Kara quickly made his “out of this world” Alienware wish a dream come true.
It was an exciting day when Julian’s computer arrived at his house. Julian said, “My parents hid it from me, and when I came home from school, it was all set up. I was so happy I just freaked out! It was just what I wanted!”
Now that Julian’s wish has come true, he can get away from it all and enjoy just being a kid – in the playground of his mind.
Kids Wish Network extends its deepest gratitude to Alienware for offering the desktop computer at a discounted rate, making Julian’s wish possible.
